A company registered in Estonia needs to have a Registered Address which can be either an Estonian or a foreign address outside of Estonia.
This is listed publicly in the business registry and serves as the place where all government and other official correspondence will be delivered and must be received.
Companies set up in Estonia whose Registered Address is in a foreign country must appoint a qualified contact person in Estonia to act as a contact point for all formal communications.
If the address of the company is in Estonia, appointing the contact person is optional. However, in our experience, it is beneficial and useful to appoint a qualified contact person also in cases when the company has its address in Estonia. It enables the contact person to receive all the important correspondence.
